Documentary Voices: Social Awareness 2009.  Stay Tune.

“Documentary Voices: Social Awareness” is the second edition of Documentary Voices film festival that started in July 2008.

This initiative is a cutting-edge program of documentary film producing, screenings and workshops designed to develop and empower filmmakers while informing the public. The initiative highlights perspectives on culture, society and community development.

This is the only film initiative in the UAE that is dedicated to documentaries and training the potential documentary filmmakers.

Documentary Voices is also proud to be the very first film initiative in the UAE that with constant support of New York Film Academy Abu Dhabi, offers scholarship to its workshops’ participant.

This year Documetary Voices make history again by answering to another need: “Documentary’s influence on social awareness”

Whilst 1 out of 150 children are diagnosed by autism, it is time to take action. Therefore Documentary Voices that was initiated by Mahshid Zamani CEO of Caspian Event, moved one step further by being the pioneer in producing the very first UAE made documentary about autism and Dubai Autism Centre called 'Make Me Perfect'.

Believing in documentaries’ power made us confident that “Make Me Perfect” will be a thought provoking film and will pull the community’s attention to this cause.
 
To inspire parents and children whose lives are affected by autism, we are exhibiting the striking paintings of Christophe Pillault, the famous French artist who has severe autism.

Chritophe’s figurative paintings are full of life and his success story will bring hope to the parents and their autistic children.

The proceeds of Christophe’s paintings’ sale will be donated to Dubai Autism Centre.

Documentary voices deem that the combination of screenings, panel, film producing, exhibition and workshop will bring alertness to autism, documentary and the impact of documentaries on social Awareness.
